A Grand Discovery

Steve and I love adven­tures. May of 2014 we rent­ed a 600mm lense and vis­it­ed a Rook­ery on the coast of Texas. What a grand adven­ture it was! There were so many birds, the noise was almost deaf­en­ing. Egrets, herons, spoon­bills, and birds we had no names for. I am still amazed and in awe of the beau­ty and the won­der of God’s cre­ation. Here are a few pic­tures from the rook­ery plus a few oth­ers tak­en between here and there…

I was tak­ing a pic­ture of him on his nest which made him fly, He end­ed up on the ground under a tree pant­i­ng real­ly bad. I think this was his longest flight.
